Choosing which calendars Roll Call reads

Most accounts hold several calendars. The picker under Calendar Sync decides which of them Roll Call reads when working out whether you are busy.

It appears once your first sync has run and found your calendars.

Choose your calendars

  1. Go to your profile.
  2. Find Calendar Sync and your connected account.
  3. Tick every calendar that should count as busy time.

Changes save as you tick. There is no save button.

What to include

Include anything that would stop you playing: work, family, standing commitments, the calendar your partner shares with you.

Leave out calendars that never block your evenings. Public holiday feeds, birthday calendars, and subscribed sports fixtures create conflicts you would happily play through.

Getting it wrong

Too many calendars and Roll Call thinks you are busy when you are free, so your group gets fewer options. Too few and it books you over something real.

Both matter more with Auto-RSVP on, since nothing of yours is checked by hand.

The Roll Call calendar

Roll Call creates its own calendar in your account for your confirmed sessions, and it appears in the list already ticked. See Sessions on your calendar.

Leave it ticked. Roll Call manages that row and turns it back on when it next syncs. Keeping it on is what stops another campaign booking you over a session you have already committed to.

A missing calendar

If a calendar you deleted or lost access to was selected, Roll Call drops it and shows a warning on the connection. Nothing else changes, and the warning clears once you have reviewed the list.

Unticking everything

Unticking every calendar does not stop Roll Call reading them. With nothing selected it falls back to reading your main calendar, and on Apple it falls back to all of them, which is the opposite of what you were after.

To stop the reading, disconnect the account instead. That deletes the events Roll Call has imported, and your availability then comes from your downtime and time off alone.
