Fixing calendar sync problems

A connected calendar shows its state under Calendar Sync on your profile: when it last synced, or a Sync error badge with the reason.

Most problems are an expired connection and are fixed by reconnecting.

Check the connection

  1. Go to your profile.
  2. Look at the Calendar Sync section.
  3. Read the line under the account name.

"Synced 5 minutes ago" means all is well. A red Sync error badge carries the reason beside it.

Authorization expired

This is the common one. It means the permission you granted has lapsed or been revoked, often after a password change or a security review of connected apps.

  1. Click Disconnect.
  2. Connect the calendar again and accept the permissions.

Apple password rejected

Apple connections use an app-specific password, which stops working if you regenerate or revoke it. Generate a fresh one and connect again. See Connecting Apple Calendar.

Your ordinary Apple account password will not work here.

Calendars were removed

A warning rather than an error. A calendar you had selected is no longer in your account, so Roll Call has stopped reading it. Review the list and tick a replacement if you need one. See Choosing which calendars Roll Call reads.

Stale sync times

Roll Call syncs before it needs your availability rather than on a fixed timer, so a last-synced time from a few hours ago is normal. Click Sync Now to refresh immediately.

If an event you just added does not appear, check it is on one of your selected calendars.

Still stuck

Disconnecting and reconnecting clears most states. It removes the events Roll Call imported and fetches them again.

If the error survives that, contact support with the provider name and the message shown.
