For your table
Lines & Veils
What are Lines and Veils?
Lines and Veils is a safety tool for tabletop roleplaying games. Before you play, everyone anonymously marks what they would rather keep out of the story.
A Line is something that never comes up in your game. A Veil can happen in the background, but never in an active scene. Everything else is Ok.
It takes a few minutes, and it means nobody runs into a topic they can't handle in the middle of a session.
Building a deck is a quick way to find out what your table wants in the game, and what it does not. Everyone marks the same cards Ok, Veil or Line, and the combined anonymous results are shared with the table.
Three piles
- Ok Fine to play out in the open.
- Veil Can happen in the background, never in an active scene.
- Line It never comes up in our game.
How it works
- Make a deck. Give it a name. Nobody needs an account, a name or an email: not you, and not anyone who answers.
- Share the link. Anyone who has it can answer.
- See the results. The deck's page lists every card anyone marked as a Line or a Veil. It never says who chose what, or how many people chose it.
Anonymous. A deck lists every card anyone marked as a Line or a Veil, never who chose what or how many people chose it. You come back to your own answers with a private link.
