Blocking dates for your campaign

Blocked dates take specific days off the table for the whole campaign. Roll Call never proposes a session on one.

Only the GM can add them, from the Blocked Dates panel on the campaign page.

Block a range

1. Open the campaign and find Blocked Dates.
2. Click + Add, then Custom range if a menu opens.
3. Pick a start and end date. Use the same date twice for a single day.
4. Add a reason if it helps your players.
5. Click Add Blocked Dates.

Dates must be today or later, and a range cannot run longer than a year.

What to block

Block anything that takes the group offline: a convention, a shared holiday, a stretch when you are away. Players enter their own absences as time off instead.

Blocking one player's holiday here removes the date for everyone, which is rarely what you want.

Major holidays

Major US holidays are skipped automatically and appear as a single row marked Auto-skip.

While the campaign is scheduling, you can remove that row if your group happily plays through them. + Add then offers Major holidays again.

Removing dates

Blocked dates are grouped by range in the panel. Each row is removed as a whole, whether it is one date or a range. Dates in the past drop off on their own.

When they apply

A date you block drops out of the open poll straight away, and out of every round after.

They do not move a session that is already confirmed. To clear a booked date, re-poll that session after blocking it.

Blocking too much

A long blocked range can leave a scheduling round with nothing to offer, especially on a monthly cadence. If a round comes back empty, check the blocked dates covering the period you are scheduling into.
